Viewpoint Pico do Ferro, main point of view of the entire Furnas Volcano, which is a large volcanic edifice, formed by numerous eruptions, interspersed with periods of calm, over the last 800 thousand years. It has a large depression at the top, called the caldera, measuring 8 km by 5.6 km and encompasses an important geodiversity, highlighting the Lagoa das Furnas, several small volcanoes, fumarolic fields and a parish. Its highest point is 570 meters above sea level.

On the almost opposite side of the viewpoint is located perhaps the most beautiful golf course in São Miguel, the 18-hole Furnas Golf Course.
